No Further Bookings 2012 updated: Sunday 04 December 2011
Owing to increased family responsibilities, we have decided that we can not afford to be tied to B&B commitments for the foreseeable future. All 2012 bookings will be honoured but it is unlikely that we will accept any more.
We are grateful for everyone's support over the years and know that this will be a disappointment to our many friends on the Dales Way as well as those planning to attend weddings in our beautiful village, Sorry!!

Robert and Jonny Go Mad!! updated: Sunday 19 September 2010
Robert and our son Jonny did their bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands End, rolling into Land's End with 26 other hardy souls on 28 August. 870 miles in just over 7 days was a huge physical and mental challenge for them both but they came through in good shape, having raised the staggering total of £16,000 for Wooden Spoon, the rugby charity for disabled children. Our Reputation is Spreading updated: Saturday 10 March 2007
We continue to be encouraged by the kind comments of our visitors. on the Dales Way website or in our guest book:
"Probably the best reading material of any B&B" - August 2006.
"A wonderful stay" - November 2006.
"Great welcome, great bath, great breakfast!" - July 2006.
And now recognition in the Financial Times as a "sophisticated haven" in which to relax.
So - a big Thank You to our past visitors and a standard we hope to maintain for new ones.

Calendar Girls Update updated: Saturday 22 January 2005
Now that the film of Calendar Girls has been seen worldwide, our visitors enjoy being in the heart of the beautiful Calendar Girls country and spotting Alison (very briefly) in the film (fully clothed!!) where she appears as a WI steward in the Marks & Spencer cake scene standing between Penelope Wilton and Helen Mirren. Guests in the Dales Way Suite can also decide for themselves whether waking up with a view of Burnsall Church is as uninspiring as Helen Mirren fears - unfortunately, we can't offer the full George Clooney comparison!! For Alison's moment of glory, see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3034917.stm.

More Useful Information updated: Wednesday 31 July 2002
For example - we speak fluent French and Russian (why?? - you may well ask.....) and a smattering of other languages; we are sorry but we don't have facilities for small children, dogs or payment by credit card; and we reserve the right to charge in full for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice. Oh - and we are a non-smoking establishment. We are also fairly flexible on accommodation - if you need more than is shown on the home page, we may still be able to fit you in. So, if you don't see something that is important for you, please ask.
